Why do I do what I do? Why do most people…? Because I love it! I cannot remember ever wanting to do anything but write books and take care of animals. I don’t know if Sam Adams really said it – was there really a Sam Adams? – but the words are true enough; “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”. So is that why I do it, why I write, because I love it and it pays? No, not really. I do it for a purpose much closer to my heart. I do it to support the charity I started in 2009 – the Irving House Animal Sanctuary (www.irvinghouse.org) for the rescue and care of abandoned senior and special needs animals. In other words, the “throw-away’s”.
