Janis Hill
Genres
Janis grew up in and around Darwin and its rural surrounds. As she spent a lot of her early childhood in the science building of the Darwin University, it took her a long time to realise that not everyone got to grow up like that or could relate to all the Science Labs scenes in the old Dr Who.
She now lives in the Adelaide Hills with her husband and 3 children – the latter lovingly referred to as ‘Demonic Hordes’ – and their increasing menagerie. Is a self-confessed Haus Frau trying to find the right balance between horde wrangling, keeping house and garden decent, café visits – for much needed hot chocolates and brownies – and writing. Likes to make life even more difficult for herself, from time to time, by taking the occasional contract in ICT Support to help pay the bills. Bonnie’s Story is Janis’ first published book and is currently being considered in the Young Adult Fiction Award section of the 2014 Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature.
