A new colony. A man without a soul. A prophecy of his coming. The future of both worlds rests in his hands.

The people of Earth have spent centuries colonising the stars but there has been a mystery shadowing them everywhere they go: the best worlds are already inhabited by humans. The most distant planet, Casader, breaks this cycle. Living amongst the indigenous humans are the first true aliens, the lionmen. With unbound strength and an unwavering sense of duty these two races have learnt to live together. And now the Earthers must also learn to live amongst them.

Shayne Forrester is an empty shell of a man. Stasis-induced degeneration stole his humanity, leaving behind little more than a husk. Shunned by the other colonists and no longer suitable for his original duties he is retrained as a Starborn Soldier, the eerie shadow force of the military. The natives however see something in him and choose him as their mediator. Is Shayne the prophesied ‘sky messenger’, the one who shakes the foundations of the worlds and returns the lost gods from oblivion? Or is he just a soulless man doomed to be used by competing factions?

Starborn is an immersive story about first contact with a technologically primitive society and the unlikely friendship that forms between a broken Earther and a young alien scholar.
