The Ship’s Doctor

by Charlotte Nash
It’s just a trip to the furthest-flung mega-space-station for a basic malfunction. For a ship’s doctor, a new breed of implanted organic system medico, it should have been an easy job. Instead, this doctor walks into a crisis.

First, there’s a dead colleague. Then, the infected core, and a flight engineer who knows something about her past. Oh, and then there’s the fact she’s unwittingly assisted a miliary coup, which threatens to spread the infection across the ‘verse. Will she make it out? Or will she sacrifice all for the station?

A sci-fi adventure novelette of space medicine, mercenaries and machines from Aurealis and Ditmar Award nominee, Charlie Nash. Originally published in Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine and now re-released.
