The Streetwise Motorcyclist: Expert Tips For Keeping Yourself Safe In Traffic

by Delia Strange

I was a certified rider trainer (motorcycle instructor) for several years during the 2000s. During my stint as an instructor, I taught thousands of riders; new riders both young and old, male and female and also experienced riders who’d been away from riding for a number of years and wanted to return to it.

This book is best suited for:
•Riders who may have bypassed licensing laws (as many countries do not require licenses for 50cc scooters)
•Riders who were self-taught or taught by a family member or friend
•For long time motorcyclists who haven’t ridden among traffic after a long delay.
•Riders who seem to be constantly surrounded by ‘stupid or dangerous drivers’

If you are an experienced motorcyclist, this book would work best as a reminder for skills and scenarios you’ve probably come across before but might have forgotten.

This book will NOT lecture you on the dangers of motorcycling.
This book is NOT a substitute for practical hands-on training by a qualified instructor, nor does it substitute for practice. I will address only the most basic motorcycle riding techniques in this book.
This book WILL teach you how to keep yourself safe without making you paranoid.
This book WILL give you hints and tips for being in control of your safety.
This book WILL help you to recognize a potentially hazardous situation.

Includes diagrams of common traffic situations.
