Before turning to fiction, Darryl built a career in digital strategy, founding ireckon Digital in the mid-1990s and working with organisations like News Ltd, Red Cross, and Channel 10. Originally from New Zealand and now based on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, he brings the same obsessive detail to his world-building; including founding Jester Planet, a site dedicated to the real history of jesters and court fools that informed the lore behind his novels.
