Ged Gillmore completed degrees in languages and literature at the University of London before fancying a change to sunnier climes and moving to Sydney. These days he spends his time between Australia, Ireland and the UK. When he’s not falling off his surfboard at Bondi, or dabbling with a day job that pays the bills, he sits at his laptop and bashes out fiction. The Bill Murdoch Mysteries launched in late 2017, and introduced Readers to “the world’s most reluctant private investigator”. HEADLAND, CLASS ACT and BASE NATURE have been well-received, regularly topping Amazon’s best-seller charts, and in 2018 CLASS ACT was nominated for a Ned Kelly Award (Australia’s oldest and most prestigious crime fiction prize). In early 2022 Ged releases his first standalone international thriller, THE LIGHTNING ROD. Ged has also turned his hand to children’s fiction (the hilarious CATS ON THE RUN and its sequel CATS UNDERCOVER), as well as travel writing: in May 2019 he published ‘Stans By Me’, a memoir of his whirlwind travels through Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan), all told with a generous dollop of his deadpan British wit.
