James Bradley is an author and critic. His books include the novels Wrack, The Deep Field, The Resurrectionist, Clade and Ghost Species, two novels for young adults, The Silent Invasion and The Buried Ark, a book of poetry, Paper Nautilus, The Penguin Book of the Ocean and Deep Water: The World in the Ocean. His essays and reviews appear regularly in The Guardian, The Monthly and elsewhere.
His novels have won The Age Fiction Book of the Year Award, the Kathleen Mitchell Award and the FAW Literary Award, and have been shortlisted for awards including the Miles Franklin Award, The Christina Stead Prize for Fiction and the Victorian Premier’s Prize, and his non-fiction has won the Pascall Prize for Australia’s Critic of the Year, been nominated for a Walkley Award and twice shortlisted for the Bragg Prize for Science Writing. He lives in Sydney.
